24th November 2017

On Tuesday 21st November we had two matches against St Francis Primary School. First, team B played against a young team. To begin with it was a close, fair game. Stanley Grove had a few chances but missed, and then Yayhe tapped in a pass from Zain. St Francis were down but continued to attack our defence. The final result was 1-0 to Stanley Grove.

The second match was played by team A against a stronger, more attacking team. The game started with some very physical but fair play. St Francis scored early on but we didn’t give up. Cherno and Al-Ameen played well together linking up some good passes. St Francis continued to attack but Ismail stayed strong and kept the ball away from the goal. They unfortunately won 1-0 but on aggregate we drew 1-1.

We were very unlucky but it was our best performance so far.

“A fantastic game in difficult weather. The floodlights added to a great atmosphere. Both teams were brilliant!” Miss Ward – Head of School.
