Β This week, 3W looked at the different parts of a flower. The children then carefully dissected a flower and looked for the different parts such as the petal, ovary, filament, stigma and style. It was really interesting to look at these in detail and learn about the functions of these different parts. What super scientists they are!

World Book Day 2024
Dear Parents and Guardians,
World Book Day takes place nationally, on Thursday 7th March 2024 and we hope youβll join us as we come together to celebrate our World Book Day in school.
This year, we will have lots of fun activities taking place throughout the week including:
- Dressing up on the day β you can choose to come into school in something you love to read in or you can dress up as your favourite book character.
- Sharing your childβs chosen book β send in their favourite book with them on the day so we can read it to them and their friends.
- Reading the same book in every class across school, performing a chosen poem live on dojo and writing our own funny poems.
- Sending home a Β£1 World Book Day book token to get a free book to keep!
- Y1-6 will be taking part in an Online event β The Great Big Footy and Booky Quiz 2024!
Weβre very much looking forward to celebrating World Book Day, which could not happen without the support of parents and carers – thank you.
Best wishes,
The English Team
3M visit Albermarle Allotment
This week, 3 Modahl enjoyed a visit toΒ Albermarle Allotments, as part of their Science unit of work.
Children learned about the importance of allotments, their role in the community and how compost is formed. They also had the opportunity to plant their own seeds. The session was led by our very own Mrs Hawkins, who was a teacher with us at Stanley Grove for many years. The class had a wonderful time.
